François FEUTRIE was born in Le Mans (France) in 1983, he lives and works in Rennes.
After graduating in graphic design at Rennes’ Fine Art school in 2009, François established as a graphic designer and artist.
His recent artworks based on his interest for norms & graphic standards — like visual representations of statistics, classifications and instructions — were displayed in Paris, Rennes, Bayeux (France) and Luxembourg.
Starting from a protocol creation, his works function as a system that orders and reorders the features and the constituent materials of the object, space or place on which he works. As proof, his 10 in situ installations, made in North America and South America, are designed from preset instruction explaining the various stages of construction. The environmental resulting artworks, constructed from materials mainly found on site, a kind of « heterotopias » notably taking the form of hut, tunnel, framework or roof structure, invite the viewer to explore this reorganized space.
