Jan Schaab is a graphic designer/ visual artist based in Hamburg Germany, holding an MFA in Typography from the University of Fine Arts Hamburg (HFBK). His work ranges from self initiated projects like curating exhibition and music events and self-publishing, over collaborative work with and for other artists, designers and musicians, to typography based client work. Not confined to any kind of analog or digital media, the outcomes vary from abstract videos and images to the development of visual identities and book design. Jan has gathered some experience in running workshops and teaching. Currently enrolled as a PhD student at HFBK, he is doing research on the process of change concerning the profession of graphic design in the 21st century.
