Lauren Thorson

Born in Des Moines, Iowa, Lauren Thorson received her MFA from the Minneapolis College of Art & Design. She is a fifty-percent of the design studio, Studio Set and currently a Designer-In-Residence, Visiting Faculty at Virginia Commonwealth University. She has exhibited and lectured nationally; worked as a designer and has been published internationally, recently being named one of The Walker Art Center's “Ten Artists to Watch in 2013.” She has served as co-chair for the IEEE VIS Arts Program for the past two years, moving into the role of Design Chair of VISAP 2014 Paris, France.
