Marielle van Genderen is a graphic designer, based in Rotterdam (the Netherlands), who works for Frame Publishers as well as on self-initiated and commissioned design projects. Her main field of interest focuses on the constitutive relationship between typography, colour and material in editorial design. While she enjoys her creative endeavours as an individual artist, she also draws inspiration from collaborating with others.
Currently, she is employed as an editorial designer at Frame Publishers. Not only is she responsible for the art direction and (re-)design of Frame magazine - a leading international trade magazine for interior and product design, she has also designed several books on various topics such as hospitality design (Night Fever 2) and the role of colour in design (Colour Hunting).
Under the moniker of Holy Grey - a collective of like-minded, yet thoroughly unique individuals - she has developed a series of experimental art projects, including the Connected project which featured at the 2010 Graphic Design festival in Breda, and Wat zoekt u? a poster project about the financial crisis.
